Data Storage and Analysis

The MSL Sequencing Platform provides integrated data storage and analysis through the UBCseq domain, a private environment hosted within Illumina Connected Analytics. This cloud-based platform enables secure, scalable management and analysis of large multi-omics datasets while supporting flexible workflow development.

UBC researchers can analyze their sequencing data using a suite of preconfigured tools, including optimized DRAGENworkflows, or develop and deploy their own pipelines using containerized workflows built with Docker, Common Workflow Language, and Nextflow, including community pipelines from nf-core. The platform supports both CPU- and GPU-enabled compute environments, allowing efficient analysis of complex genomics and multi-omics datasets.

Within the UBCseq domain, researchers have access to scalable hot and archival (cold) data storage, as well as compute resources, available on a cost-recovery basis for UBC users. Hosted in Canada and compliant with HIPAAsecurity standards, the environment is suitable for the secure analysis of protected datasets, including human subject data.
