Data Storage and Analysis

The UBC Genomics Collaborative provides integrated data storage and analysis through the UBCseq domain, a private environment hosted within Illumina Connected Analytics. This cloud-based platform enables secure, scalable management and analysis of large multi-omics datasets while supporting flexible workflow development.

UBC researchers can analyze their sequencing data using a suite of preconfigured tools, including optimized DRAGEN workflows, or develop and deploy their own pipelines using containerized workflows built with Docker, Common Workflow Language, and Nextflow, including community pipelines from nf-core. The platform supports both CPU- and GPU-enabled compute environments, allowing efficient analysis of complex genomics and multi-omics datasets.

Within the UBCseq domain, researchers have access to scalable hot and archival (cold) data storage, as well as compute resources, available on a cost-recovery basis for UBC users. Hosted in Canada and compliant with HIPAA security standards, the environment is suitable for the secure analysis of protected datasets, including human subject data.
